Hi Katie,
ReplyDeleteAwesome creation of the backward design! How would you apply this to the age group you are getting you degree in? I am doing 7-12 certification with a 5-6 extension!
Hi Julie, Thank you so much for the feedback!
DeleteI am getting my certification in Childhood, grades 1-6. I would apply this by having the students review vocabulary words from the text, in addition to compare and contrast characters to understand different character traits. I would also have students identify the point of view, and what message the author is working to convey. The learning activities will change based on the grade.
Hello Katie,
ReplyDeleteYou did an incredible work organizing your goals in understandable and achievable way. Also, I like your clear view on what kind of achievements and understandings of your students you will be work on.
Thank you.

Hi Miriam,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your feedback!
Hi, Katie -
ReplyDeleteNice job on your UbD Stage 1 assignment!
In bullet 2 of your Students Will Know section, it sounds like you're alluding to students being able to use context clues effectively in their reading - especially as you state that in bullet 2 of your Students Will Be Able To section. If that's the case, you might want to use the term 'context clues' in your bullet 2 description under Students Will Know. That way, both you and the students are on the same page when it comes to your teaching language.
Keep up the great work!
